Eating well does not have to be so hard but let’s face it, time is such a precious and elusive commodity.
We never seem to be able to find or make any, let alone get it back and it goes by so quick! I’m sure that no one would dispute that health should be our first and foremost priority.
Good health manifests in many forms. Through wellness, fitness, attitude and spirituality just to name a few. And it’s with this, our lives become rich.
For me, good health is not just about eating well, its the full visceral process. Of course, for most of us growing our own produce is out of the question. But, sourcing and preparing the majority of the produce which we are going to cook with and consume is very much within our control.
Learn to find the sheer pleasure and satisfaction in shopping for your produce, not leaving it to an absolute stranger to select and prepare the foods you are going to, not only feed yourself but your family also. There is a real community out there of proud growers and producers of real, clean whole foods you can get excited about too!
The vast majority of recipes here at poach me quick are based on a few key principals. I use this term loosely because there is no, one-size-fits-all or miracle panacea, its about what works for you. Thus for me, guiding principals include:
- Vegetable and Fruit abundant
- Whole grains and legumes
- Natural oils
- Dairy free
- Refined sugar free
The great thing about these recipes is that they are adaptable, if you want to use cows milk over plant milks, do so. If you prefer oats over quinoa, go right ahead.
